Engineering Administrator (Apprentice)

Do you have a genuine passion to be an administrator but with the unique opportunity to work within an engineering environment? Then this apprenticeship is just for you!

The post holder will be required to participate in the formal apprenticeship scheme, which will include working towards your Level 2/3 in Business Administration as required by the terms and conditions of the Apprenticeship Programme.

JME is a manufacturer of market leading nondestructive testing equipment which is sold worldwide. We are based in Lowestoft and have been established since 1986.

Duties will include:

  • To understand and complete all work related activities on time
  • Review of email communication to ensure all individuals and companies are responded to promptly
  • Raising purchase orders, raising and kitting of works orders, Receiving goods and packing goods for dispatch.
  • Stock maintenance, including periodic stock related checks.
  • Periodic checking of stock computer system to review cost and build costs are correct.
  • Preparation of reports
  • We will train the right person to develop engineering knowledge to allow for QC inspection of machined and fabricated metalwork
  • Comply with the company ISO9001 standards
  • Comply with company health and safety policy

Additionally a flexible approach, ability to work towards & understand objectives and deadlines and self-motivated towards becoming part of what is a continuous learning environment.
The ability to work as part of a team, attend team meetings, eventually contribute to appropriate discussions, written and verbal.

To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
A good knowledge of IT is essential, an interest in engineering is desirable along with an outgoing personality with a good team working ethos.

Sales Administrator (Apprentice)

Do you have a genuine passion to work as an administrator within a busy sales and marketing environment? Then this apprenticeship is just for you!

The post holder will be required to participate in the formal apprenticeship scheme, which will include working towards your Level 2/3 in Business Administration as required by the terms and conditions of the Apprenticeship programme.

JME is a manufacturer of market leading nondestructive testing equipment which is sold worldwide. We are based in Lowestoft and have been established since 1986.

Duties will include:

  • To understand and complete all work related activities on time
  • Review of email communication to ensure all individuals and companies are present on the company CRM system with correct Inputting and updating of customer data.
  • Ensure customers are responded to promptly by all communication methods.
  • Producing sales quotes, order conformation documents etc.
  • Ship and distribute our products globally
  • Checking of monthly shipping accounts to correlate documents, prepare reports when requested.
  • Periodic postal mail shots to customers (product information, letters, exhibition notifications etc.)
  • Preparation of marketing materials and required show literature, Manage show equipment, unpacking, record keeping.
  • Periodic checking of company computer system to review cost prices vs. sales prices to ensure maintenance of profit margins.
  • Scanning/archiving of documentation for both sales and admin team as required, Assist with stock control when required
  • Preparation of weekly report on debtors and advising relevant account manager

Additionally a flexible approach, ability to work towards and understand objectives and deadlines and self-motivated towards becoming part of what is a continuous learning environment.
The ability to work as part of a team, attend team meetings, eventually contribute to appropriate discussions, written and verbal.

To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required

A good knowledge of IT is essential, an outgoing personality and an interest in sales is desirable, a good knowledge of geography and country locations would be of benefit.

Duties will include:

  • To understand and complete all work related activities on time.
  • Efficiently and methodically managing all documents, by way of our electronic system.
  • Liaising with engineers or other team members as appropriate.
  • Recording and archiving meeting minutes.
  • Assisting with company ISO 9001 procedures.
  • Attending team meetings, eventually contribute to appropriate discussions.
  • Recording meeting minutes and archiving them accordingly.
  • The right person will be trained to control JME’s drawing database and electronic revision system.
  • The right person will be trained to understand conformance and compliance to industry standards.
