ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN (APPRENTICE)

JME is looking for someone to join their production department to help undertake various activities at all stages of electronics manufacture. Including manufacturing PCB’s, wiring looms sub-assemblies.

Working mainly within a small production department, this role requires you to communicate with a range of individuals and split your time between kitting, manufacturing, and testing, among other production tasks. We are a market leading manufacturer of non-destructive testing equipment that is sold globally. Therefore an interest in engineering is very desirable for this role.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Manufacturing PCBs (Inc. Soldering of surface mount components).
  • Producing Wiring looms from production drawings.
  • Manufacturing electro mechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot, test and repair products and assemblies.
  • Compiling reports and preventing known issues from reoccurring.
  • Preparing work packs for production.
  • Adhering and upholding company quality policies and procedures.
  • International travel maybe required.

The ideal applicant will:

  • Be a good communicator.
  • Computer literate, both on MS, and for data entry on an in-house software system.
  • Interested in engineering.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Flexible approach to work, with the ability to multitask.
  • Be able to work under pressure.

Desired qualifications:

Ideally GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English, mathematics and Science or equivalent. Full UK Drivers license advantageous but not essential.

You will be required to work Monday to Friday 8:00am until 5:00pm. (1 Hour Lunch)

ENGINEERING PURCHASING/STORES/INSPECTION (APPRENTICE)

JME is looking for someone to join their production and purchasing department to help undertake various roles to include inspection, stock control and administrative activities at all stages of manufacture.

Working mainly within a small production department, this role requires you to communicate with a range of individuals and split your time between administration, inspection of goods in and production tasks. We are a market leading manufacturer of non-destructive testing equipment that is sold globally. Therefore an interest in engineering is very desirable for this role.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Checking goods inward such as component orders, metal stock deliveries and components such as fabricated and machined parts from suppliers.
  • Inspecting machined and fabricated components against technical drawings.
  • Compiling reports and preventing known issues from reoccurring.
  • Using a variety of different precision measuring equipment such as Micrometer’s, Vernier’s etc.
  • Preparing work packs for production.
  • Adhering and upholding company quality policies and procedures.
  • Ordering relevant stock.
  • Assisting with ensuring stock levels are accurate at all times.
  • Booking goods in and out on our stock control system.
